This no-cost, in-person workshop is the second in the City of Whittlesea's Sustainable Communities Workshop Series.

In this workshop, educator Maria Ciavarella from My Green Garden will lead a presentation covering all you need to know to start keeping backyard chickens.

The session will cover:

what is needed to keep chooks
how to keep them safe from pests and foxes
which varieties are suitable for different purposes
and council requirements

Participants will take home extensive notes from the session.

The CoW Sustainable Communities Workshop Series aims to up-skill City of Whittlesea community members in the art of sustainable, climate-resilient living and community-building.

Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions to be entered into a prize drawing at the series' end. Every workshop participant will also receive a certificate of recognition for their participation and have the opportunity to share their learnings and creations at the celebration showcase in November 2023.
