Queen Victoria Women's Centre
Melbourne VIC, Australia
Add to calendar

Thu, 29 Oct, 4pm - 6pm AEDT

Description

At the current rate of progress, achieving gender equality remains more than a century away. But, with bold leadership, sustained investment and a clear plan for the future, the next elected Government has a powerful opportunity to help close that gap and accelerate progress for current and future generations.

Join Gender Equity Victoria (GEN VIC) for an evening with representatives from across the political spectrum, sharing their vision for the future of gender equity in Victoria. Building on GEN VIC's recently launched 2026 Victorian Election Priorities, this forum will provide members with the opportunity to hear directly from key political representatives about their vision and commitments for gender equity ahead of the Victorian State Election.

Hosted by:

  • Jamila Rizvi, Deputy Managing Director, Future Women

Confirmed speakers:

  • Gabrielle Williams MP, Deputy Premier and Minister for Women and Gender Equality

  • Cindy McLeish MP, Shadow Minister for Women and Prevention of Family Violence

  • Anasina Gray-Barberio MP, Spokesperson for Women, Gender Equality and Family Violence (appearing via video)

  • Georgie Purcell MP, Animal Justice Party

Date: Thursday 29 October 2026
Time: 4:00 - 6:00pm
Venue: Queen Victoria Women's Centre, 210 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne
