TAKE YOUR BUSINESS IDEA OUT OF YOUR HEAD AND ONTO PAPER!

If you've said to people in your family that 'one day we should start a business,' Keeping it in the Family is your opportunity to explore your business idea.

Our free, 3 hour workshop in Spanish will help you and a family member look at your business idea so you can decide if you should spend more time, energy or money developing it.

You don't need to have a fully formed business idea to attend the workshop.

Eligibility

• Anyone who speaks Spanish can attend. 
• It does not matter what type of visa you have.
• You can be any age, gender, nationality or religion.
• You can bring as many family members as you wish but at least one family member must come with you to the workshop.
• Either you or the family member you bring with you must have been born overseas.
• You or your family member live, work or study in the City of Melbourne Council area or surrounding Councils.

What you'll get

• Skills and knowledge to identify a startup business which could improve the economy of the City of Melbourne.
• Take away tools you can use after the workshop to help you explore other business ideas into the future.
• A workshop with other Spanish speakers led and supported by native Spanish speakers.
• Very experienced workshop facilitators who will help you and a family member explore your business idea.
• The opportunity to join a FREE six week (one Saturday per week) pre-accelerator program led and supported by native Spanish speakers.
• As part of the pre-accelerator program, the opportunity to have business coaching by native Spanish speakers to help you plan the next steps of your business.

Keeping it in the Family: Business training for migrant families is designed and facilitated by iGen Foundation in partnership with Jesuit Social Services. 

We are grateful to the City of Melbourne Community Partnerships grant for funding this unique in-language entrepreneurship project. 

We appreciate the support of Swinburne University schools of Business, Entrepreneurship and Law and Social Sciences, Media, Film and Education for the evaluation of the project.

From iGen Foundation to people who enrol into the Program.

We have invited researchers from Swinburne University of Technology to conduct a research project that examines the effectiveness of the Keeping it the Family entrepreneurship education program.

The aim of this research is to understand the extent to which you find the program to be a useful way to develop the skills and knowledge needed to start your own business.

Each participant will be invited to complete two surveys and participate in an interview with a researcher.  If you complete a survey or participate in an interview, you can enter a random draw to win a $25 Wish Gift E-card. 

Each survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.  There is one survey at the beginning of the program and one at the end.  The interview will last for approximately 45 minutes and is conducted after you have completed the program.

iGen Foundation wants to assure you that your participation in this research is entirely voluntary.

• If you do not wish to participate in the research, it will not affect your enrolment in the Keeping it in the Family program.
• You will not need to explain why you do not wish to participate, or why you wish to withdraw from the research after it commences.
• You do not need to participate in the research, and you may withdraw from research participation if you change your mind later. 
• There will be no penalty to you if you do not participate, or if you later withdraw from the research.

Si alguna vez le has dicho a alguien de tu familia: 'deberíamos de iniciar un negocio', Mantenlo en familia es tu oportunidad para explorar esa idea de negocio.

Nuestro taller gratuito de 3 horas en español te ayudará a ti y a un miembro de tu familia a analizar su idea de negocio para que puedan decidir si deben dedicar más tiempo, energía o dinero en desarrollarla.

No necesitas tener una idea de negocio completamente formada para asistir al taller.

Sólo necesitas registrarte para uno de los tres talleres de Big Ideas, ya que son iguales, sólo que se llevan a cabo en diferentes horarios.


Elegibilidad

Cualquiera que hable Español puede asistir.
No importa qué tipo de visa tengas.
No importa tampoco la edad, género, nacionalidad o religión.
Puedes traer tantos miembros de la familia como desees, pero al menos un familiar debe venir contigo al taller.
Tú o tu familiar debe haber nacido en el extranjero.
Tú o tu familiar debe vivir, trabajar o estudiar en la zona central de Melbourne o en las áreas circundantes.

¿Qué obtendrás?

Habilidades y conocimientos para identificar un negocio startup que podría mejorar la economía de Melbourne.
Herramientas que puedes usar después del taller para ayudarte a explorar otras ideas de negocios en el futuro.
Un taller con otras personas que hablan Español; dirigido y apoyado por hablantes nativos de Español.
Facilitadores de talleres con mucha experiencia que te ayudarán a ti y a un miembro de tu familia a explorar tu idea de negocio.
La oportunidad de unirse a un programa de pre aceleración GRATUITO de seis semanas (un sábado por semana) dirigido y apoyado por hablantes nativos de Español.
Como parte del programa de pre-aceleración, la oportunidad de tener coaching empresarial por parte de hablantes nativos de español para ayudrte a planificar los próximos pasos de tu negocio.

Mantenlo en familia: la capacitación empresarial para familias migrantes está diseñada y facilitada por la Fundación iGen en asociación con los Servicios Sociales Jesuitas.

Hemos invitado a investigadores de la Universidad Tecnológica de Swinburne a realizar un proyecto de investigación que examine la efectividad del  programa de educación para el emprendimiento Mantenlo en Familia (Keeping it the Family).

El objetivo de esta investigación es comprender hasta qué punto considera  que el programa es una forma útil de desarrollar las habilidades y el conocimiento necesarios para iniciar su propio negocio.

Cada participante será invitado a completar dos encuestas y participar en una entrevista con un investigador. Si completa una encuesta o participa en una entrevista, puede participar en un sorteo al azar para ganar una tarjeta electrónica de regalo Wish de $25.

Cada encuesta tardará aproximadamente 15 minutos en completarse.  Hay una encuesta al principio del programa y otra al final.  La entrevista durará aproximadamente 45 minutos y se llevará a cabo después de haber completado el programa.

La Fundación iGen  quiere asegurarle que su participación en esta investigación es totalmente voluntaria. 

• Si no desea participar en la investigación, no afectará su inscripción en el programa Mantenlo en Familia .
• No necesitará explicar por qué no desea participar, o por qué desea retirarse de la investigación después de que comience.
• No es necesario que participe en la investigación, y puede retirarse de  la participación en la investigación si cambia de opinión más adelante. 
• No habrá penalización para usted si no participa, o si luego se retira de la investigación.
