Join us on Friday, 2 August 2024 to launch the Kelly Wilkinson Foundation, celebrate Kelly's legacy and raise funds for secondary victims of domestic violence!
The Kelly Wilkinson Foundation has been established in honour of my sister Kelly, a loving mother, sister, daughter, and friend who, in 2021, sadly lost her life in a domestic & family violence incident on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
Kelly eagerly embraced helping others less fortunate than herself. She would be immensely proud to see the launch of the Kelly Wilkinson Foundation; a maternal wrap around service designed to provide short and long term financial and practical support to other secondary victims of domestic violence (being other children orphaned by domestic violence homicide and their caregivers). We recognise that the economic circumstances of secondary victims and their caregivers can dramatically change because of domestic violence homicide, and we aim to aid as many families as possible in our first years of operation. This cause is particularly poignant given Kelly's three young children, aged 8, 6, and 2 at the time of her passing.
On what would have been Kelly's 31st birthday, we invite you to join us as we launch the Foundation, uniting as a community to raise funds for other children affected by domestic violence homicide at our inaugural event – Kelly’s Long Lunch.
What can you expect?
You can expect to hear directly from me as I share my vision for the Foundation with you and tell you about my own lived experience. There will also be some great food, great company and a tonne of prizes to take home.
