WOVEN GARDEN STRUCTURES
with NZ Bamboo Society

The New Zealand Bamboo Society was formed in 1989 and aims to promote the appreciation, growing, and use of bamboo. Find out more about the New Zealand Bamboo Society at their website, facebook and instagram pages, or become a member to follow along for otherworkshops and bamboo focused content.

Join this practical workshop with Mark Mortimer from the NZ Bamboo Society. Participants will explore the craft of working with bamboo, learning how to harvest, process, and weave it into useful structures for the home garden.

Focusing on the construction of a raised planter, Mark will demonstrate techniques that can be adapted to a wide range of garden projects. The workshop is designed for beginners and home gardeners, using simple tools and accessible materials to create durable and functional woven structures.

Participants will gain an understanding of bamboo as a sustainable building material and leave with the skills to incorporate woven bamboo elements into their own gardens.

Tickets include:

Demonstrations of harvesting and processing bamboo
Instruction in basic bamboo weaving techniques
Guidance on constructing a woven raised planter
Access to materials and tools during the workshop
Practical skills and techniques to use at home

We look forward to seeing you on the farm soon!
