Some say, ‘writing about music is like dancing about architecture.’

Well, that sounds splendid to me, personally I would love to watch a contemporary dance piece encapsulating Brutalist architecture… but to the issue at hand: capturing in words the music of Benoit.

I have 3 dances with words to share with you about this awe-seeking Aussie’s songman:

In Benoit I hear rich lyrics flowering in calming disarming fields of lush guitar;
Benoit combines a folk twang with a social justice sting and melodic swank with suburban swag;
Listening to Benoit is like eavesdropping on a poet and guitarist making love in the backseat of a rowboat sailing on a sea of songs.

I recommend listening in, listening on and listening long.
