Ketch Review Hobart 2027: Tall Ship James Craig

Soak up the views that River Derwent has to offer aboard a 19th-century Tall Ship while James Craig is in Hobart for the Australian Wooden Boat Festival! This historic river flows more than 200 kilometres and drops more than 700 metres from its origin in the national park above Hobart, before emptying into Storm Bay and flowing into the Tasman Sea.

The Ketch Review brings together a magnificent fleet of traditional trading ketches—vessels defined by their iconic two-masted rigs—for a synchronised, friendly showcase of heritage sail power.

EVENT INFORMATION:

Minimum Age: 8. An accompanying adult must be in charge of supervising children under the age of 14.

Catering: Passengers will join the crew onboard the ship for light refreshments. Tea and coffee will be available, as will a bar to purchase alcohol and soft drinks.

What to wear: Please wear sensible footwear and bring a windproof jacket. Stilettos and sharp-heeled shoes are prohibited.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

• If, in the opinion of the Master, on the day of the event the wind or sea state is deemed unsuitable for the safety of passengers, the event will be cancelled. A partial refund will be issued upon cancellation.

• If needed take seasickness tablet before boarding.

• Smoking on board strictly prohibited, including e-cigarettes.
