This public talk with Rev. James Bhagwan is an opportunity to hear about key concerns for Pacific-Australia relations from the perspective of the church and a social justice advocate.  

Rev. James Bhagwan's role as General Secretary of the Pacific Conference of Churches, peak regional ecumenical organization (42 member churches and national councils of churches in the Pacific), has given him great insight into the issues and concerns of the Pacific peoples in the region.  Apart from his role in the church, Rev James is a representative of the church and together with civil societies in the Pacific, advocates for climate change, West Papua, labour mobility and social justice.  He is involved in the inclusion of civil societies voice for the development of the Blue Pacific 2050 Strategy with the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.  He is also a member of the DFAT funded Pacific Church Partnerships Advisory Network.
