This 1-day introduction to Key Word Sign workshop includes

• An interactive teaching environment

• Learning a basic vocabulary of signs to use in everyday settings

• How to choose which signs to teach

• Principles of Key Word Sign and Gesture

• How sign helps communication development.

Suitable for

• Parents/Carers, Family & Community Members

• Childcare & Disability Staff • Teachers, Educators & Support Workers

• Allied Health Professionals

• Anyone in the community.

Each participant in a Victorian Community Key Word Sign workshop receives a copy of the current edition of Getting started with Key Word Sign (Auslan Edition) on the day of the workshop.

• You will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

• Note: Victorian Teachers can use these hours towards their VIT PD hours.

When: Monday September 25th 2023

Where: Springvale Park Special Developmental School

  13-15 Sandown Rd,

   Springvale VIC 3171

Time: 9:30 am - 4 pm

Please arrive by 9:15 am for a 9.30am start

Parking: Plenty of onsite parking available. If coming by public transport, venue is a short walk from Springvale Station.

Lunch: Please bring your own lunch. We will have a 30 minute break for lunch. There are some cafes 5-10 minutes walk away but you may prefer to bring your lunch to save time. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided for morning and afternoon tea.
