One-day in-person workshop
This introduction to Key Word Sign workshop includes
- An interactive teaching environment
- Learning a basic vocabulary of signs to use in everyday settings
- How to choose which signs to teach
- Principles of Key Word Sign and Gesture
- How sign helps communication development.

- Anyone in the community.
Each participant in a Victorian Community Key Word Sign workshop receives in the mail a copy of the current edition of Getting started with Key Word Sign (Auslan Edition) as part of their registration.
- You will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
- Note: Victorian Teachers can use these hours towards their VIT PD hours.
When: Friday 17th May 2024
Where: Preston Library Meeting Room
Time: 9:00 am - 4 pm Melbourne time
Please arrive by 8:45 am for a 9.00am start
Getting there: Preston train station is 9 minutes walk away. The tram stop at the corner of Plenty Road and Gower Street is 5 minutes walk away.
Parking: Unfortunately parking in the library and council area is time restricted . There is some all-day parking around the train station, but these places are limited .
It might be better to park in a nearby street and allow an extra 15 minutes to walk to the library. The nearest streets with all day parking are David St (south of the library) and the eastern sections (furthest from High Street) of Beauchamp St and Pender St (these are both north of the library).
Lunch: Please bring your own lunch. We will have a 45 minute break for lunch. There are plenty of cafes 5-10 minute’s walk away but you may prefer to bring your lunch to save time. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided for morning and afternoon tea.
Cost: $350 per person
