Keys: a literary and musical fundraiser for Palestine Australia Relief and Action (PARA - http://para.org.au)

A cozy arvo featuring literary readings and live music by Simona Castricum, Declan Fry, Fin Healy, Gareth Morgan, Greg Sher, and curator/MC Angelita Biscotti. 2.30pm doors for a 3pm start in Collingwood House. The address will be e-mailed to ticket holders 24 hours before the event.

Simona Castricum is an architecture worker, musician, and broadcaster. Poet and critic Declan Fry is a recipient of the 2023 Hilary McPhee Award for "911 Lonely: Call Me Call Me Call Me" and of the 2021 Peter Blazey Fellowship for "Justice for Elijah or a Spiritual Dialogue With Ziggy Ramo, Dancing". Fin Healy has worked collaboratively as a guitarist across a range of genres, including folk, jangle, experimental and punk. Gareth Morgan is the author of When A Punk Becomes A Spunk and Dear Eileen, and co-director of Sick Leave. Greg Sher is a saxophonist, festival programmer and radio presenter and a member of the Loud Jew Collective. Angelita Biscotti is a PhD candidate in Creative Writing, art model, portraitist, and live performer.

This event is 18+ and would suit people of all genders and backgrounds who are interested in contemporary art, avant-garde literature and new independent music. There will be a donation bar featuring alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. All proceeds from ticket sales and the donation bar will be donated to PARA. PARA is a Palestinian-Australian-led not-for-profit that supports new Palestinian migrants and refugees in rebuilding their lives on this continent.

Desired vibes: community care and hospitality to Palestinians, Jews, Muslims, Christians, First Nations people, queer, trans and gender-non-conforming people, immigrants, refugees, people of colour and people from the global working classes--people who wish to stop the genocide, end settler-colonialism in currently Occupied Palestine, challenge Zionism globally including in the arts, protect our right and freedom to protest, and protect community from the cops on the streets and in our heads. Anti-Palestinian racism, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, racism against First Nations people and people of colour, transphobia, homophobia, sex-worker-phobia, classism, ageism, ableism, are unacceptable.

This fundraiser is taking place on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. This always was, always will be Aboriginal Land. We acknowledge the way First Nations people have shown up for Palestinians historically until the present day. May this colony fall, may all colonies fall.
