Would you go for a walk in the forest together in our dreams?
At this workshop, we will explore the use of plant divination practices in dreaming up liberatory futures. And we are going to work with Mugwort (Artemisia Vulgaris) a revered and ancient herbal medicine associated with the moon and used traditionally in dreaming practices.
We will start with a meditative visualization practice in which we envision the worlds our elder selves desire and dream to inhabit . Then we will then come together to create a collaborative tapestry using paint and plant material to map out these landscapes of our dreams and desires.
This practice is intended to give shape to that most wise, most gentle guiding heart that lives within each of us. ✨
Dinithi is a queer, Sri Lankan artist, gardener and herbalist in training. Their work is an exploration of sacred object and ritual with a focus on nurturing practices of devotion to the more than human world. Using plants as conduit, Dinithi's workshops are an exploration of our inner landscapes and the embodied strength and wisdom contained within them.
Food to share: Qingtuan - Mugwort mochi and tea
