Kick on's at the Kaik
Description
Kick Ons at the Kaik - The unofficial Hui-ā-Iwi afterparty
Hui-ā-Iwi brings our people together from across the motu, so let’s make the most of it.
We’ve always worked hard together as an iwi, but somewhere along the way we forgot how to celebrate together. Kick Ons at the Kaik is about fixing that. Whakawhanaungatanga is at the heart of this night - catching up with cousins you haven’t since the last hui, meeting whānau from across the motu, and having a good time together.
What’s on
🎤 7pm - 9pm: Foxy Joe’s Karaoke
Foxy Joe is infamous for karaoke on Te Tai Poutini. If you’ve spent a night or two at the Railway, you’ve probably already sung for him
🎧 9pm - close: DJ JTK + DJ Infared
Two of the Club Kingz crew are taking over the decks. You might know JTK - he was our DJ at Punch Up at the Pā and kept Parakiore pumping between bouts. He’s teaming up with fellow Club Kingz DJ Infared to see the night out. Time to show off those dance moves. Yes, even the ones from the 2000s.
📅 Saturday 21 November
📍 The Mud Bar, St Asaph St, Ōtautahi
Tickets
The more the merrier, but numbers are limited, so get in quick. The ticket price covers the costs of putting the night on - no one’s making a profit here. We just want to get our people together.
The one rule
This is a night for good vibes and good company. Respect your whānau, respect the venue, and keep your hands to yourself. If you can’t do that, stay home.
Fine print
Unofficial, unendorsed and very much unmandated by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. Just good music, good vibes, whakawhanaungatanga and a mic. 😉
