KIDDO Geraldton Physical Literacy Workshops
Description
KIDDO team is coming to the Mid-West region to deliver 2 in person, practical professional development for educators in Geraldton.
These practical, hands-on workshops are designed to build confidence in delivering quality Physical Education and supporting children’s Physical Literacy through engaging, evidence-informed teaching approaches.
Thanks to the support of Healthway, these sessions are FREE and open to all schools, teachers, early childhood educators, coaches, and allied health providers — no KIDDO membership required.

Location: Beachlands Primary School - 50 Whitfield St, Beachlands
Workshop 1 – Teaching & Assessing Fundamental Movement Skills
Time: 9:45am – 11:45am
Suitable for: PE Teachers, Classroom Teachers, Early Childhood Educators, Leadership Staff Members, Inclusion, Wellbeing Coordinators, Junior Sport Coordinators & Coaches, Allied Health Providers
This workshop will explore:
How to explicitly teach Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS)
Simple and effective assessment strategies
Using assessment data to inform teaching and planning
Practical activities and teaching ideas ready to use in your setting
Workshop 2 – Teaching PE Using a Game Sense Approach (Years 3-6)
Time: 12:30pm – 2:30pm
Suitable for: Year 3–6 Teachers, PE Specialists, Leadership Staff, Junior Sport Coordinators & Coaches, Allied Health Providers
This workshop will explore:
Designing engaging and inclusive PE lessons
Developing students’ tactical understanding through games
Strategies to maximise participation and skill development
Practical approaches to delivering student-centred PE
Using the CAMSA year 3-6 assessment tool
Important Information
Morning tea and lunch will be provided
Free KIDDO resources for all attendees
Participants may register for one workshop or attend both sessions
All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance for Professional Development hours
