Kidney Supportive Care (KSC) Masterclass
Introduction
The Melbourne Kidney Supportive Care (KSC) Masterclass is a 2-day educational event, focusing on core curriculum in KSC, including symptom management, complex treatment decision making, communication skills and advance care planning.
It presents an opportunity for physicians, advanced trainees, nursing and allied health staff interested in KSC to develop and update their knowledge of the evidence and clinical skills in this field.
A certificate of participation will be issued on completion of the KSC Masterclass feedback survey.
Topics include:
· KSC: what is new and what is controversial?
· KSC in low resource settings - India
· Symptom management (e.g. itch, dyspnea, pain, fatigue, restless leg syndrome)
· Dialysis discontinuation
· KSC and deprescribing
In the last session on Thursday 8 October, there will be an opportunity for members of the audience to share any KSC stories that changed their practice. If you would be interested in participating in this session, please contact A/Prof Kathryn Ducharlet. Her contact details will be provided in the order confirmation email received after tickets have been purchased.
While this is a 2-day event, participants may elect to register for a single day only.
