Event description

Would your child benefit from time in the outdoors, learning practical skills and taking part in fun, adventurous activities?

If so, our Kids Adventure Club - a six-week series of Saturday sessions safely engaging 9-12 year olds in active outdoors pursuits such as canoeing, bushwalking, mountain biking, geocaching and rock climbing - could be the perfect fit!

The first of the six-week series begins at Camp Quaranup at 9am on Saturday, 30 October and will focus on canoeing and bushwalking alongside practical first aid, navigation and personal safety skills. Sessions run until 12.30pm each Saturday and this series finishes 4 December.

The benefits of outdoor recreation are widely acknowledged to provide both physical and mental health benefits including resilience, as well as increased personal confidence and a general sense of wellbeing.

Over time, participants can gain leadership skills, environmental awareness and First Aid skills, all while having fun and meeting peers with common interests.

The skills pathway is designed to produce Outdoor Leaders who are competent to lead teams in a range of outdoor contexts.

This program has been made possible through the generous support of the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC).
