    Event description

    Would your child benefit from time in the outdoors, learning practical skills and taking part in fun, adventurous activities?

    If so, our Kids Adventure Club - a series of sessions safely engaging kids in active outdoors pursuits such as canoeing, bush walking, archery, basic first aid, basic, should be - could be the perfect fit!

    Outdoor Explorers Years 4 - 6

    Sunday 10.00am - 12.00pm

    Over the course of the Term, participants will take part in a variety of local adventures such as

    • Beach combing/Marine life identification
    • Canoeing and water safety
    • Wild animal rescue and care with local carers and what you can do to help
    • Archery
    • Bush fire safety and awareness
    • Bush Tucker and shelter building with local elders

    Young Adventurers Years 1-3

    Sunday 10.00am - 12.00pm

    Our young adventurers program will see participants take part in fun outdoor activities such as:

    • Shelter Building
    • Keeping safe outdoors
    • Clothing and equipment
    • Nature hikes and scavenger hunts
    • Bush fire safety and awareness
    • Bush Tucker and shelter building with local elders

    • 13th Aug
    • 20th Aug
    • 3rd Sept
    • 10th Sept
    • 17th Sept

      Why Outdoor Recreation?

      The benefits of outdoor recreation are widely acknowledged to provide both physical and mental health benefits including resilience, as well as increased personal confidence and a general sense of well-being.

      Over time, participants can gain leadership skills, environmental awareness and First Aid skills, all while having fun and meeting peers with common interests.

      The State government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is a major supporter of Outdoors Great Southern in Western Australia. Sport and recreation creates vibrant, inclusive and connected WA communities.
