    Event description

Kids at Play Active Play (KAPAP) is a capacity building program that offers professional learning for early childhood educators from early childhood education and care (ECEC) services through to lower primary schools (years K-2) in the ACT.

It has been developed, and is delivered, by early childhood specialists and health professionals. The KAPAP training has been designed to help early childhood educators feel confident to promote active play and teach fundamental movement skills (FMS) to children aged three and up in early childhood and school settings.

KAPAP has been mapped against the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standard (NQS). Participation in KAPAP can assist ECEC service providers to achieve EYLF outcomes and NQS quality areas, standards, and elements. The program has also been mapped against the Australian Curriculum – Kindergarten and Year 1/2 to demonstrate linkages with the Health and Physical Education (HPE) achievement standards.

This professional face-to-face learning session provides information on the importance of active play and FMS development, as well as practical participation in how to teach FMS. Educators will also be provided with resources to assist with the delivery of the program.

NOTE: This event will provide participants with morning tea and a light lunch.
