Special Storytime Visit - Narelle Wynter

Join Perth-based author Narelle Wynter, a paediatric speech pathologist with over 30 years’ experience, for an engaging and interactive session based on her book I’d Rather Eat Chocolate. Written to build reading confidence in young children while gently encouraging healthier eating habits, the story uses rhyme, repetition and playful veggie-powered animal characters to make reading fun and meaningful.

Illustrated by Rebecca Cool, the book helps children explore how vegetables fuel the body in a way that’s accessible and entertaining.

This one-hour interactive session includes an author introduction and Q&A, two story readings (including a fun version with props and dress-ups), literacy activities focusing on rhyme and syllables, and a hands-on craft where children create their own mini veggie greenhouse.

All materials are provided.
Suitable for ages 4–8. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
