Kids' Autumn/Winter Clothes Swap
Event description
Refresh your kids’ wardrobe in an affordable and planet-friendly way!
Join us at Windmill Hill Community Centre during Sustainable Fashion Week 2025 to swap your good quality preloved kids’ autumn and winter clothing (3–11 years) for things you need.
Plus: Bring along your worn-out clothes and tote bags and give them new life by screen printing or repairing them at one of our drop-in workshops!
How does it work?
Bring along up to 6 clean, good-quality kids’ clothing items to swap.
In return, you’ll be given one stamp per swappable item. Then you can exchange your stamps for a selection of useful, new-to-you clothing. (Remember to bring a bag to take your swaps home in.)
We will check items at drop-off for quality (and seasonal relevance) to ensure a useful and enjoyable swapping experience for all. Please check the list of clothing we accept (below) before selecting your items to swap.
Unswapped items will be either donated to a local children’s charity or kept for future swaps.
Profits will be donated to Bristol's Baby Bank Network.
(Nothing to swap? Come along anyway; grab a coffee, screen print your t-shirt or tote bag, make a patch and bump into your neighbours.)
What kinds of clothes should I bring?
To ensure a feel-good event, please only bring clean, good quality things you’d be happy to take home yourself.
Please bring:
Jumpers, trousers, long-sleeved tops, dungarees, dresses, skirts
Winter coats, hats, scarves, gloves
Wellies, winter shoes, trainers
Warm nightwear and dressing gowns
Halloween costumes and Christmas-themed clothing (max. 1 per household)
Please do not bring:
Baby clothing and accessories (0–24 months)
Stained, discoloured, ripped or otherwise unwearable clothing
Underwear, swim wear and socks
Spring/summer clothing (save it for our spring/summer swap!)
