Kids' Autumn/Winter Clothes Swap
Event description
Refresh your kids’ wardrobe in an affordable and planet-friendly way!
Join us at Windmill Hill Community Centre during Sustainable Fashion Week 2025 to swap your good quality preloved kids’ autumn and winter clothing (3–11yrs) for things you need.
Whether your kid has outgrown that beautiful winter coat faster than you hoped or refuses to wear those amazing dungarees, this is your chance to update their wardrobe ready for the colder months ahead.
How does it work?
Get your ticket in advance. This will give us an idea of how much clothing to expect on the day and lets us keep in touch with you with drop-off reminders and other details.
In the week leading up to the event, or on the day just before the event starts (10-10:30am), drop off up to 6 clean, good-quality kids’ clothing items to swap.
In return, you’ll be given one stamp per swappable item. On the day, exchange your stamps for a selection of useful, new-to-you clothing. (Remember to bring a bag to take your swaps home in.)
We will check all items at drop-off for quality (and seasonal relevance) to ensure a useful and enjoyable swapping experience for all. Please double check the list of clothing we accept (below) before selecting your items to swap.
Unwanted items will be either donated to a local children’s charity or kept for future swaps.
What kinds of clothes should I bring?
To ensure a feel-good event, please only bring clean, good quality things you’d be happy to take home yourself.

Drop offs in week before event
[More details coming soon. We will also share drop off dates and times with ticket-holders via email].
On the day
10:00: Last-minute swap-drop offs welcome. Grab a drink in the cafe while you wait for swap to open.
10:30: Swapping begins!
12:30: End of swap.
I have nothing to swap but would still like to get involved
That’s not a problem. Get a ticket and shop the swap for £1 per item.
Is it just a swap?
Nope! There will be hot and cold drinks and snacks served in the small hall (please bring your own cup if possible!), a kids' corner, and a handful of other activities that we'll tell you more about nearer the time!
We hope to see you there. Please spread the word! The more clothes we have to swap the merrier.
