Kids Classes

Your child is invited to create their own art and have fun running and playing on the grass and under the trees of the Communty Centre, with the help of of some of Tamworth's most experienced art educators. In addition to their own practice as professional artists, Danny Stanley and Sophie Honess have been teaching the young and old of Tamworth for years, at schools, the regional gallery, and more: and our new team members Ava and Logan are two of the most promising young artists in the region. Our long-running 9 to 14 years class has been very popular, and we would like to extend the same opportunities to younger children of the community. That means a variety of fun art classes, which focus on kids learning new skills in different areas of art, following their own intuitions and creativity.

Our students will gain skills in hand-eye coordination, observation and many different artistic techniques and mediums; as well as gaining confidence in self-expression and creativity, and making friends with like-minded kids. Our classes feature calming background music; a variety of fun cartoon figures for kids to use as reference and inspiration; a large selection of kid-friendly art books, and a generous 20 minute break in the middle of class, to pass a ball around, play a game, or just eat a snack under the trees at the Community Centre.

Who is this for?

These classes are for kids who enjoy creating art, such as drawing, painting and sculpting.

Venue

Held at The Tamworth Community Centre, a heritage listed building with modern amenities, as well as access to a large grassy fenced courtyard area for kids to play on.

Come & Try

For kids new to the class to see how they like it before committing to the term.

If you purchase a Come & Try ticket, you can choose a class, first week or otherwise, for your child to come and try the class out. If you would like to proceed with the rest of the term, simply transfer the remainder owed to the bank account listed below and let us know via email.
