Kids Classes

Kids will join professional artist and experienced educator Danny Stanley for a varied and fun weekly lesson, which teaches kids the basics of visual art, using tactile resources, classical statues, cartoon figures, and more. With a strong basis in drawing, kids will increase their confidence in artistic expression, incorporating colour through pencils, crayon, markers and paints. Sessions will feature regular breaks where kids can run and play in the grassy fenced area of Tamworth Community Centre.

Winter Term

This term will focus on drawing skills, giving kids the opportunity to focus on understanding form, shading, and gesture, whether for objects in front of them, or from their own imagination. Other media to be explored include polymer clay and weaving. The school has a variety of resources that kids will enjoy, from lighting to building blocks to many cast figures from popular TV shows, video games and movies. There is also access to a big grassy courtyard for a mid-session break.

Campgrounds Cafe Showcase

At the end of the term, students will have the opportunity to showcase some of their best work at a mini exhibition at Campgrounds Cafe.

Who is this for?

These classes are for kids who show a keen interest in and appreciation for visual arts, such as painting, drawing and sculpting.
