This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

To encourage young people to interact, learn and appreciate our natural environment, NPAQ is hosting a bird watching activity day. This event was scheduled to take place during the July school holidays however due to weather, has been rescheduled for July 17th.

Looking for things to do with the family on the weekend? Have you ever tried bird watching?

Birdlife Southern QLD volunteers and bird watching veterans will be guiding small groups around the Minnippi parklands to get a taste for bird watching. Birdlife volunteers be sharing their local knowledge and expertise, and they will also be providing binoculars for the children to use for the event and teaching them how to use them.

Bird watching is not only a great activity to appreciate nature, it also assists in citizen science research to help protect vulnerable and endangered species.

Throughout the morning, children will have the opportunity to use binoculars to find birds and participate in a number of activities including bird bingo and making a take home bird feeder!

Please note that a guardian over 18 must be present for each participant. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
