    Event description

To encourage young people to interact, learn and appreciate our natural environment, NPAQ is hosting a bush tucker focused activity day. This event is scheduled for the September school holidays on Sunday 18th September 2022 at Bribie Island.

Looking for things to do with the family on the weekend? What about going for an Australian Bush Tucker tour?

Bush food (tucker), is any food that’s native to Australia and it has been harvested for at least 60,000 years by the Aboriginal people.

BIEPA volunteers will be guiding a small group through the Joondoburri Walk at Bribie Island with Uncle Ron, who will be sharing some indigenous knowledge of bush tucker and the area.

Throughout the morning, children will have the opportunity to learn about native foods and the local cultural heritage. They will also participate in a number of activities including tucker bingo and planting a take-home bush tucker plant!

Please note that a guardian over 18 must be present for each participant. We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
