Kids School Holiday Workshop: Cardboard Cosmos - Draw Sculpt Assemble

Suitable for ages 7 – 15 years

Discover the creative potential of cardboard as a versatile and sculptural material in this dynamic workshop for young artists. Guided by interdisciplinary artist Gabrielle Bates, explore the exhibition, Beyond the Box, then create colourful layered relief assemblages inspired by the artworks.

Participants will:

• Explore basic design principles, drawing techniques and sculpting methods

• Experiment with texture, mark making and repetitive design

• Develop an understanding of composition and form through assembling cut and carved cardboard

• Engage with creative problem-solving and material exploration

• Discover tactile processes and sustainability by using recycled materials
