Join us for a fun and creative kids’ sewing workshop, where children (aged 8+) will learn the basics of using a sewing machine and create their own personalised repair kit! Attendees will practice simple stitches, learn how to thread a machine, and, with hands-on guidance, discover how easy it is to fix clothing instead of throwing it away.

Led by Sarah from Sip & Sew, a trained primary school teacher and sewing superstar, this workshop is great for tamariki wanting to try something new, where they can learn at their own pace in a fun, friendly environment.
This event is perfect for complete beginners or those who already know their way around a sewing machine.

Parents can either drop their kids off or stay to join the fun.

What’s included:

sewing machines and materials
a light morning tea
beginner-friendly, step-by-step guidance
a personalised take-home repair kit

This event is part of the Cambridge Autumn Festival and is brought to you by Waipā District Council. Events are funded from the Government’s Waste Disposal Levy, helping councils run projects that encourage reducing waste.
