Kids wild clay workshop
Event description
Date: 11th July, 2024
Location: Dural Memorial Hall
Time: 11am-1:30pm
Ages: 6 +
Join us these school holidays for a fun day learning about wild clay, and making a perfectly unique piece of handmade pottery.
We will go through the process of how to identify and harvest wild clay, then learn my favourite hand-building technique of the pinch pot to create a mug, bowl or flower pot. This will then be fired, glazed and ready to collect within 8 weeks of the class.
There will be various coloured wild clays available to decorate our creations, as well as stamps, flowers and leaves to add texture and patterns to our pieces.
This workshop is designed for children and parents/ carers are welcome to stay to watch.
If you wish to participate with your child, there are child/ adult ticket bundles available. Adult tickets will also recieve clay to create their own piece of pottery which will be fired and glazed.
Due to the length of this workshop and the the elements involved, if your child is under 6 years old and would like to attend, a paying adult must accompany them.
Beginner friendly and all materials will be provided.
Light snacks and tea will be provided. Please bring a drink bottle.
This will be a messy workshop, please ensure your children are wearing old clothes and it may be best to bring a change of clothes too.
