Event description

KIKI AND ZUKI

Kiki and Zuki brings a beautiful blend of shadow puppetry, performance and storytelling to kids and families.

Kiki, a dreamer from the Moon, and Zuki, a curious Earthling, embark on a journey of friendship, understanding, connection and resilience.

This project was inspired by the artists’, Taka Takiguchi and Yoube Lee's personal migrant experience of navigating two cultures in Australia. As artists, they have always been fascinated by the challenges of understanding new cultures while staying true to their own. Shadow puppetry allows them to explore these themes in a visually and emotionally captivating way.

Children will be invited to view a performance followed by a workshop where children get to create their own shadow puppet.

This event is best suited to children aged 6 — 12 years

Where: Bishops Parlour, Abbotsford Convent

When: 10:30am performance followed by workshop, finishing around 12 noon

Cost: $10 per child

WORKSHOPS ARE FOR CHILDREN ONLY! ADULTS - SIT BACK AND RELAX! DON'T WORRY - WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED! COFFEE NEARBY!

This work was conceived, developed and presented in 2024 with generous support from Banyule City Council.
