KiloWatts plus Huron at The Gatherings Concert Series
Event description
Whether expressing the warmth of the heart with lush chords and melodies or engaging extraterrestrials through granular tractor-beams, KiloWatts (alias EM Jamie Watts) sends music out into the world for a mind moving journey. Drawing on opposite sides of his personality his work realizes itself only in the act of playing. On drifting melodies and fluttering modulations we are lead to where shadows play, only to be beckoned further inside a substantial Ambient soundscape. A gently cascading power, triggered by a command of music and technology, mood, tone and atmosphere, enliven each KiloWatts session. A rare and restful space of possibility, dreaming and drifting through the cosmos, Watts' live set for The Gatherings Concert Series presents the Ambient Music side of this acclaimed artist.
Johnny Lancia realizes blissed-out ambient works and concerts under the name Huron. His music is filled with heady drones and intriguing rhythms that reflect the natural world - filtered through a variety of modular synthesizers, analog electronics and digital manipulation processes. Lancia's synthesizers, a paradise of hidden synergies, conspire with the composer to realize a beautiful, untouchable sonic realm - as electrical currents spill out into the world with a charged dreamy glow
