Join us at 10:00 AM on Saturday, 6 December, for a deeply reflective Kintsugi Workshop guided by Basmah from Sage House Psychology — a space where tradition meets tenderness, and where something once broken becomes the beginning of something new.

The Art of Becoming Whole, Again

Kintsugi — the Japanese practice of mending broken pottery with lacquer mixed with gold — was born from wabi-sabi: a way of seeing beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and the quiet poetry of things that have endured.
Where others might see damage, Kintsugi sees a map of survival.
A truth-telling.
A shining.

In this session, we’ll explore both the history of the craft and its modern therapeutic meaning:
How we piece ourselves back together.
How we honour the fractures instead of hiding them.
How gold fills the lines where we once thought we’d shattered.

This workshop is faith-based in its facilitation, drawing on the Names of Allah as anchors for reflection — names that speak of Mercy, Renewal, Strength, Healing, and Light.
But the space is open to all women, of all backgrounds, beliefs, and journeys.
The faith element is not a requirement — it simply colours the atmosphere with meaning, like gold through a seam.

Through guided reflection, you’ll explore the interplay between inner healing and divine attributes — how faith, presence, and art can meet each other in quiet conversation.

What We’ll Create

You’ll break a ceramic piece (with intention, not destruction) — and rebuild it using:

✨ Epoxy
✨ Gold powder/dust
✨ Plates, bowls, and cups
✨ Paint & brushes

Your final piece won’t be food-safe,
but it will be a gentle companion —
a holder of jewellery, hair ties, pins, memories,
a decorative reminder of your own becoming.

Bring only:
Something you don’t mind getting a little paint or glue on —
and a heart willing to explore renewal.

Everything else is provided.
