Event description

Kinusaiga is an ancient craft that originated in Japan. They would carve designs on wooden boards and push silk scraps from kimono into the grooves.

In modern kinusaiga, we use foam board. Here at Haveabashery, we aim to make the the process as accessible as possible. You will be provided with a kit consisting of

  • A3 adhesive foamcore board with the template of the image to create
  • Craft knife pen and awl
  • A choice of fabrics
  • Bottle of fabric glue
  • Toothpicks

If you decide to have your artwork framed, we have a sister company on-site, In Frame, where you can order a custom frame.

This is a 2 class course. Each lesson will run from 10am to 1pm.

  • 24th May Saturday
  • 7th June Saturday

You will receive an email reminder before each class.

All materials are provided. $100 for the course + booking fee. Haveabashery chose to use Humanitix for their ticketing because 100% of the profits from your booking fee goes to charities involved in education.
