Event description

It’s official! 🇦🇺🔥

Kirsi & Dasmara’s First-Ever Australian Tour is happening July 11, 12 & 13!

This is a rare chance to learn from two of the most respected names in the Kizomba world.

Kirsi & Dasmara are bringing their energy, teaching depth, and rich cultural knowledge to Australia for the very first time!

📅 Dates: July 12 & 13 with a Welcome Kizombada Friday 11 evening.

A little about them: Their combined experience is monumental!

🔥 Kirsi VanSol

Kirsi has been teaching Kizomba since 2011 and leading trips to Angola since 2017, offering students the chance to experience the dance at its roots. She has trained students who have gone on to become renowned teachers worldwide and holds the distinction of being the first white person to teach Kizomba to Angolans in Angola.

She collaborates closely with Angolan champions and top artists, ensuring students receive knowledge directly from the source. By bridging the gap between learners and Angolan culture, she makes it easier to understand and connect with this rich heritage.

In May 2024, Kirsi was invited to speak at the inaugural Original Kizomba Association conference in Angola, where she received an award for her contributions to promoting Angolan culture and tourism—an honour she calls her "Oscar for Lifetime Achievement."

Her teaching focuses on musicality and expressing music through the body. She breaks down dance techniques from a biomechanical perspective, helping students refine their movement and fully harness their physical potential.

🔥 Dasmara Dossantos

Dasmara Dossantos is a dancer of Angolan origin, now based in Portugal. He began his dance career in Angola and has been teaching Kizomba in Europe since 2006. In 2013, he gained international recognition by winning the Africa Dançar competition, earning the title of World Champion in Kizomba and Semba. Since then, he has been teaching and performing across Europe and worldwide.

Passionate about sharing the joy of dance, Dasmara is a sought-after instructor at dance events and festivals. Known for his precision and professionalism as a teacher, as well as his creativity, elegance, and technical skill as a dancer, he continues to inspire students globally. Many of Europe's most dedicated dancers consider him a key source of knowledge, often traveling across the continent for private lessons.

In addition to teaching and performing, Dasmara occasionally takes on the role of DJ, further enriching the dance experience with his deep connection to the music.
