About Shivam Rath
Musical magician and producer, Shivam is exploring exciting new realms with modern day technology and his Indian Classical training. Using the 22-string Hindustani Slide Guitar and his unique crystal ball as slide, he effortlessly draws unique one of a kind signature sounds and melodies based on Raga and his own musical expressions. Exploring diverse styles and musical cultures including the Japanese Shakuhachi flute, the rhythmic beats of the Indian Tabla, and expressive vocals based on traditional devotional songs, Raga and ancient mantras transforming old into new and just as often in the moment fully improvised. Shivam’s approach breaks genre barriers, creating a harmonious blend of musical influences for a captivating and holistic listening experience that can be a deeply dynamic journey from meditative listening to up beat transcendental dance with full electronic music production.

In addition to instrumental prowess, Shivam's musical artistry extends to vocals, rooted in the profound vocal system of Indian Classical Music and Sanskrit Mantra. He seamlessly weaves these traditional elements with progressive flavours influenced by his Western upbringing, creating a unique musical tapestry that he often demonstrates on stage with real time looping. Shivam believes that each instrument offers a distinct perspective on music, enriching his understanding of rhythm, melody, wind, and vocal nuances. This holistic approach allows each instrument to complement the others, contributing to his comprehensive mastery of music as a unified and diverse art form. He also has a series of popular guided meditations to his own composed music he has termed NadaNidra that are deeply restorative in todays fast paced world.
