Kirtan with Nadav Kahn

After many years away, Nadav Kahn returns to Melbourne to share an evening of kirtan, joined by musician Joey DeRusha.

Nadav is an award winning singer-songwriter, producer and mantra meditation teacher whose work brings together the ancient practice of mantra with a deep love of music and its capacity to connect us more deeply with ourselves and one another. Having spent many years immersed in Vedic chant and yogic traditions in India, he has shared mantra and sound-based practices with thousands of people around the world.

Joey DeRusha is a Los Angeles-born, Sydney-based multi-instrumentalist, poet and visual artist whose musical world moves freely between spiritual jazz, folk, gospel, klezmer, reggae and experimental music. Curious, playful and unafraid to cross musical boundaries, Joey brings a distinctive creative sensibility and emotional depth to everything he does.

Together, Nadav and Joey create a space where voice, rhythm and repetition become a way to step out of the thinking mind and into something more immediate and alive. Through call and response, familiar melodies and the meditative power of chanting, the evening invites you to let go, find your voice and experience presence through the simple joy of singing together.
