"Kiss the Ground" Movie Screening Burlington
Event description
This inspiring and hopeful documentary about regenerative agriculture shows how farmers and ranchers can help stabilize the climate, improve crop yields, reduce erosion, decrease flooding, and earn more money.
Instead of conventional agricultural methods, which deplete soils and release heat-trapping carbon into the atmosphere, regenerative agriculture enhances soil and its remarkable ability to store carbon.
“We realized that regenerative agriculture was the biggest single thing that people could do to reverse climate change, and people didn't even know what it was, including ourselves at the time when we started,” said the film’s co-director Rebecca Tickell.
Narrated by Woody Harrelson, the film includes interviews with farmers and ranchers who are already using regenerative methods. One farmer featured, Gabe Brown, describes how switching to regenerative agriculture literally saved his family farm.
The 45-minute screening will be followed by a Q&A. Audience members can choose to sign postcards to their U.S. Senators and Representative, asking them to protect and strengthen climate-friendly policies in the Farm Bill, which is currently up for reauthorization.
