It would benefit schools and other groups looking to create edible kitchen gardens for multi use.

We have such rich learning environments on our classroom doorstep, but most teachers could use a little help making full use of school gardens. This highly interactive workshop will help teachers, parents, volunteers and garden specialists enable deep learning outside the classroom. Workshop includes tips for getting started, curriculum connections and innovative approaches to maximise learning opportunities during designing, building and maintaining a productive school garden.

Trainer Bio:

With many years working as a primary teacher, community development worker and horticulturalist, Carol combines these three passions by running school garden programs with Cultivating Community and facilitating adult workshops at CERES. Drawing garden wisdom from permaculture principles, conventional horticulture and chats with elderly neighbours, she loves sharing her enthusiasm for everything connected with growing and learning in natural environments. Carol is studying a Master of Urban Horticulture at Melbourne University (Burnley) majoring in urban food production.
