Little Clouds and Broken Creek are visiting from the mainland for Cygnet folk fest, and are stopping by Launceston for a special house concert.

Little Clouds are a subtly nostalgic, quietly optimistic singer songwriter duo based on Dharawal Country, South Sydney, Australia. Emily-Rose Sarkova & Nick Henderson write lofty afternoon inspired hits and introspective midnight bangers, laced with clever lyrics and sweet chords that make you feel real good. And let's be honest - we are all in it for the feelings.

Little Clouds are embarking upon a tour to suit their intimate vibe, bringing music with them from their brand new album 'Quiet Life'. They move between their multi-instrumentalist personalities of guitar, bass, banjo, piano, keys, synths, accordion and vocals. It is intimate. It is real. Journeys will be had.

If one requires some hard hitting musical facts about these two musicians, you might like to know that they are Conservatorium graduates who have played with award winning and very diverse musicians such as Art Music Award finalists Emily-Rose and The Wild Things, ARIA nominated Chaika, jazz legend Mike Nock, world renowned Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Elio Villafranca, Arcing Wires, Monsieur Camembert, Duo Ramirez Satorre and Chris Cody Octet.

Broken Creek weave compelling musical re-imaginings of Australiana for banjo, guitar, fiddle and voice that tell stories of outsiders from Australia’s past and present.

Named for the creek Erin grew up near, ‘Broken Creek’ signals a love of traditional folk music with an adventurous musical bent to “break” with the conventional.

Recorded in Erin’s grandmother's hundred year old farmhouse, Broken Creek’s upcoming album ‘Yeah Nah’ features songs about small-town Australia, original tunes inspired by the land and subversive re-imaginings of traditional Australian songs, folklore and tunes that challenge the narrative of Australian cultural history.

Erin and Lachlan Heycox grew up in regional border towns along the Murray River steeped in bushbands and balladeers. After moving to Melbourne to study music and history, they performed in a melting pot of different musical projects including sea shanties, avant garde orchestras, and improvised theatrical soundtracks.

With the backdrop of Yyan's vast array of cookery, there is sure to be some delicious treats on offer as well!
