Kindly Hosted by Leighton Oats, you are invited to the inaugural event organised by the Kiwifruit Regen/Soil Biology Discussion Group with assistance from Quorum Sense, with funding from Ministry for Primary Industries through the Sustainable Land Use Extension Fund.

This group has been formed to create an opportunity for growers to connect with other growers.

We are all at different stages of the journey towards trying and implementing new practices so this is a chance to come together and learn from each other, be inspired and help each other.

Topics for discussion on the day will include:

An introduction to Quorum Sense, who they are and what they do as well as the online community forum 'The Dig' to stay connected with the Kiwifruit group.
Meet the committee members and facilitators for the new group and hear their stories.
Guest Speaker Phil Carter from Bio Start-Soils and sustainable growing- essential practices for maintaining and enhancing soil health in kiwifruit orchards.
Guest Speaker Leighton Oats-Orchard Owner- the benefits of multi species cover crops for root structures and combatting nutrient deficiencies, seed coating and activation and measurements of soil/root health.
Practical demonstration of a Visual Soil Assessment and what it tells you.
An opportunity to talk to other growers, ask questions and have open discussions.

Registration from 9:30am with the day starting at 10am and finishing up around 12pm.

There will also be an opportunity to do a practical Visual Soil Assessment at the end of the day.

BYO lunch. Coffee cart on site for hot drinks.
