About the event

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is based on Carl Jung’s theory of psychological type and provides a lens for understanding personal preferences in four dimensions. Knowing your dimensions can help you to better understand yourself and your interactions with others. MBTI is widely used in organisational settings where different psychological types are represented. While diversity in the workplace is healthy and stimulating, it can also lead to tension, stress and misunderstandings. In this session, you will learn that by knowing and understanding your own and others’ types, individuals and the workplace can benefit from improved communication, more effective teams and greater staff engagement.

About our presenter,

Dr Mette Hotker

Dr Mette Hotker has a PhD from RMIT where her doctoral thesis focussed on social justice, the importance of interpersonal relationships, the moral significance of caring for others, and designing institutional frameworks to help build resilient communities.

Among other things, Mette has worked as a lecturer in Social Planning at RMIT, as a therapeutic counsellor at the Gambler's Help service, and as a cultural diversity and inclusion planner with the COGB. Mette is currently employed as the Research, Education and Program Manager at the Centre Against Sexual Assault Central Victoria.

Mette is an accredited Myers-Briggs (MBTI) facilitator and, with over 25 years of experience working with a diverse range of people in a variety of organisations and sectors, Mette has a wealth of knowledge and insights into personality types and how they can impact team dynamics and individual growth.
