Knowledge Exchange Workshop
Event description
Children by Choice invites you to attend a 'Knowledge Exchange Workshop' and Networking event.
We hope through this workshop to strengthen the collaboration between Children by Choice, Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Services, Interpreter Services and Multicultural and Settlement Services in Queensland.
The workshops will have two distinct parts, the first being an abortion-related values clarification and attitude transformation (VCAT) session where there will be a variety of exercises to assist in having open dialogue about our values and attitude about abortion and related sexual and reproductive health issues.
The second half of the workshop will focus on the ‘Knowledge Exchange’ and will include Children by Choice sharing their findings from the 'Culture and Language Inclusive Practice Studio' and the barriers and challenges for clients from Arabic, Kurdish Kurmanji, Swahili and Spanish speaking backgrounds in accessing resources that are culturally appropriate and safe in their own language regarding reproductive health and reproductive coercion.
We will have storytelling, a shared lunch and networking opportunities on the day.
Please register for one of the two workshops
