Knowledge on Tap GJ - April
Event description
From Grain to Glass: How Beer is Made
Many people like beer and are often curious why a certain beer is light or dark, why one is more bitter than another
or what the difference is between a lager and an ale. This presentation will cover how barley from the field
becomes beer in a glass and all of the processes in between. Join Holly Trujillo, head brewer at Base Camp
Beer Works as she takes us on a journey from grain to glass.
Base Camp Beer Works is known for combining traditional techniques with innovative flavors, resulting in unique and memorable
brews. Their commitment to quality and craftsmanship has garnered recognition, including multiple medals at the
2023 Denver International Beer Competition and 2023 Southwest Fresh Fest Winners for best fresh hop beer.
Beyond the brewery, Holly finds joy in exploring the great outdoors, often combining her love for hiking with her
appreciation for finely crafted beers. Her adventurous spirit and passion for both brewing and nature serve as
constant sources of inspiration in her life and work.
