Kodomo no Hi Japan Festival was first held in Adelaide in 1995 and is a celebration of the cultural and social links between the people of Japan and Australia. It is a great day for people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy Japanese music, performances, craft, food, martial arts and much more.
Children's Day (こどもの日, Kodomo no Hi) is a Japanese national holiday which takes place annually on May 5, the fifth day of the fifth month, and is the final celebration in Golden Week. It is a day set aside to respect children's personalities and to celebrate their happiness.
★ Kimono Dressing Session ★
As a part of Kodomo No Hi Festival 2023, Kimono Dressing workshop is an opportunity for our audience to try the summer style Japanese kimono which is also known as Yukata. Each session is approximately 20 minutes long including time for dressing/undressing and taking photos (using your own phones/camera).
Ticket price:
- Adult: $10 per person (including children who are 13 years old and above as they will be dressed in adult kimono)
- Child: $5 per person
- Kimono Dressing ticket does not include the entry ticket to Kodomo no Hi Japan Festival. Entry ticket to the event can be purchased at the entrance of the event on the day ($5 per person or $10 per family).
★ IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Please read carefully before purchasing:
- Please select the time carefully and arrive at the Kimono Dressing Room on time. If you are more than 10 minutes late, your session will be cancelled. Event map and information will be updated via event website.
- Tickets are not refundable except the case that the event is cancelled by JAFA. If you can no longer attend the event, it is your responsibility to resell or transfer your ticket to another person.
- Event crew will select the appropriate yukata for you based on their experience, please follow the instruction of event crew to avoid damaging the kimono.
