This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Join us on Friday, March 12th at Christchurch's International Antarctic Centre for the premiere of Kororā, a documentary by James Nikitine & Kerepeti Paraone following Canterbury's endemic white-flipped penguin and a celebration of the community engaged in protecting our native biodiversity.

Shot over the course of 4 months, Kororā documents the first in 20-years census of white-flippered penguin colonies on the Banks Peninsula and the scientists, conservationists, & tourism operators who live alongside them.

The evening will kick off with a welcome & opening remarks, followed by a meet & greet with the Centre's little blue penguins, reception with beer, wine, & food, and a screening of the 26-minute documentary, finishing with a Q&A with the crew and survey organizers.
