Koru Lian Timor with Bega Valley Male Voice Choir

Bega Valley Advocates for Timor-Leste (BVATL), a friendship group working with remote communities in Baroque-Natarbora since 2004, are pleased to invite you to a memorable performance from Koru Lian Timor.

On their Australian tour, Koru Lian Timor ("the voice & sound of Timor") bring together singers from remote regional areas of Timor under the direction of Ego Lemos, one of Timor's most celebrated musicians.

The tour has also been supported by the Social Justice Advocates of the Sapphire Coast and Four Winds with generous sponsorship from the Department of Foreign Affairs with a DFAT Cultural Diplomacy Grant.

This long awaited tour is also a response to a choir from Bega that toured Timor-Leste in 2019. David Crowden, a well known musician and Cultural Co-ordinator of BVATL has worked hard with Ego Lemos to bring this tour together after years of delays due to the Covid pandemic.

Also performing will be the Bega Valley Male Voice Choir under the leadership of acclaimed conductor, Geoffrey Badger. This choir formed in the dark days after the Black Summer Fires.

CDs and traditional East Timor crafts will be on sale after the performance.
