Event description
KOSHER GROOVE
HAZTET
SEEN HERBIVORE
FRIDAY 28th MARCH 2025 - 6PM
Live at The Servo, Port Kembla.
Kosher Groove, Haztet and Seen Herbivore take PK on a cosmic journey through jazz, doof, groove, house and experimental improvisation for 1 night only...
Kosher Groove are establishing themselves as the go-to act to see within Eora’s burgeoning Jazz Doof scene. They fuse their love for all things 90's house, deep house, Italo house, dense atmospheric textures and improvisational expression. Labels such as Underground Resistance (Detroit) and Nice 'N' Ripe (London) and AUS groups (Close Counters, First Beige, ZFEX) form a key inspiration to their sound. Kosher Groove are focussed on deeply exploring grooves, opening up space for dance and cathartic self-expression.
Inner West based jazz(ish) group Seen Herbivore merge high energy, vitamin dense grooves with unfettered improvisations, sending listeners on a journey that is equal parts captivating and enriching. Seen Herbivore is led by Adelaide born saxophonist Tom Andrews who pays homage to an eclectic array of influences in his compositions, from contemporary jazz artists Butcher Brown and corto.alto to legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.
