Haere mai ki Te Awa o Kumutoto for a open day for children and whānau to meet the kritters that live within the awa.

This is our second event as part of the Pōneke Climate Festival. From 10am - 1pm Sunday 3rd May 2026 We'll have a bunch of different ways for children to interact with urban awa including a colouring contest, hands on kritter investigation with Mountains to Sea Wellington, and a catchment model to understand where streams come from provided by Enviroschools.

Whānau will learn about the importance of invertebrates within the stream ecosystem and how pollution in urban streams and our changing climate disrupts that balance.

Take action to help these critters and the streams they live in and have some creative fun along the way.

We will also have a musical performance as well as tea and coffee for whānau. So come on down and bring the young ones! We can't wait to see you there!
