Kunanyi Folk Club December - Lucy Wise
Description
Join us for an evening of spine-tingling folk songs and instrumental playing from award-winning songwriter, Lucy Wise, who is touring Tassie as part of her East Coast Australian tour of her new album, Salt. For this special concert Lucy will be joined by internationally acclaimed Tasmanian musician Luke Plumb, who produced Lucy’s new album, as well as local bassist Isaac Gee. Together, Lucy, Luke and Isaac will create a vibrant soundscape with voice, guitars, mandolin, bouzouki and double bass.
Lucy Wise creates music that gently opens a door you didn’t realise was closed. Blending contemporary folk with pop-inflected melodies, intricate guitar work and poetic lyricism, her songs make space for reflection on longing, connection and the inner lives we carry. Lucy’s songwriting is rich with imagery and insight, often articulating experiences that are deeply felt but rarely spoken. Her warm presence and storytelling create a sense of shared experience between artist and audience.
Originally from South West Australia and now based in Central Victoria, Lucy has toured extensively across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US, and appeared at festivals including Woodford, Port Fairy and the National Folk Festival. By late 2026, she will have released five albums and two EPs, including her fifth album Salt (Sept 2026). Her work has earned multiple accolades, including Solo Artist of the Year at the 2024 Australian Folk Music Awards.
