a grounding practice of african healing through: movement, kemetic/hatha yoga, therapeutic sound/music, afro drumming/instruments, mindful connection and a guided intentional release workshop.

this unique soundscape and movement experience combines multiple therapeutic elements to create a deeper exploration or what release can/will look like for you so that you enter into october feeling lighter and more energised for the life you're creating.

every body is welcome. we are avidly passionate about creating and fostering inclusive space that allow people from all walks of life to participate in activities and experiences that nourish your body whilst having fun!

being woke, in perfect alignment and practically flawless is definitely not required to participate - in fact, it's actually preferred that you show up as your authentic self, in your mess and in your glory.

space will be provided to connect with like-minded people during the event (but don't worry, socialising will be facilitated and supported - so your social anxiety can rest easy knowing that we'll be there with you the whole way).

just bring yourself (+ your friends are welcome too!), an openness to experiencing and exploring, comfortable clothing to move in (if you want to come in your old trackies or pj's, feel free to!), and come ready to enjoy being in your body again (or maybe for the first time).

yoga mats, props, blankets, drums, blooming tea, notebooks & pens are all provided as part of this unique experience, so you don't need to remember anything but yourself.

about the facilitators:

imara grace - a walker between different worlds, a navigator of change, she has been intentionally holding space and empowering a new way forward for youth and adults alike for the last 12 years. her lived experience - as mixed-race (zanzibari, french, english, australian), a navigator (and endurer) of chronic pain, an advocate for fierce inclusion, a dancer and yoga teacher, a real human - allows her to create therapeutic movement and healing workshops that empower and connect beyond the superficial. she's passionate about finding more accessible means for people to actively participate in and enjoy their lives. @imara.grace @mojamovement

gino - a music and drama therapy facilitator, he has worked all of the work, creating inclusive and considered spaces that allow people to safely get out of their comfort zone while making room for buck loads of fun. g comes with a wealth of experience and knowledge in working with children, youth and adults - using drumming and movement as therapeutic tools for understanding, exploring and managing mental health conversations/experiences with safety and ease. he'll gladly speak with you in english, spanish, french or at the very least with share some once in a lifetime quotable moments that will remind you to have fun whilst experiencing different cultures and perspectives (even if you also happen are white and ginger). @gprojects @_sol_studios

shoshi - an innovator, a creative, a south african, a builder of connection, an inspired musical lover. shoshi will be curating the music and supporting the most incredible vibes within the space to allow you to feel like you're returning/experiencing home in newfound ways. if you haven't listened to @kayaradioperth on spotify or noongar radio, this is your official invitation (and recommendation) to do so.

workshop tickets are available as a sliding scale to allow you to contribute within your current means/capacity. accessibility is at the forefront of what we do at moja and this applies at all levels, so pay as you feel you can.

arriving at the space:

we will commence the session with a warm start, meaning that you will have 15 minutes on either side of the ticketed start time to arrive, settle into the space, ask any questions that you may have, choose where you'd like to be during the workshop and connect with some wonderful like-minded individuals.

there is ample parking outside of the studio and on the street, so you can arrive knowing that you won't be faced with the stress of figuring out where to park. i recommended parking on one of the nearby side streets or at woolworths inglewood and walking across.
