KV Youth - Cheesemaking workshop

Come and join us for a full-day cheesemaking workshop with the award winning Valley Cheesemakers!


Sunday 21st April 9am - 3pm

Kangaroo Valley Hall at the showground

A light lunch will be provided.

Participants need to bring an apron, wear enclosed shoes, and bring containers to take their cheeses home in.


Each participant makes a cheese, and will learn how to make another 3 cheeses.  You'll get to take home samples of the 4 cheeses made on the day.

Participation in this workshop carries with it inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • working with or near hot ingredients and equipment;
  • walking on damp or wet floors;
  • the consumption of cheeses made at the workshop; and
  • the use of induction cooktops as part of this Workshop.
  • Participants release the conductors of the workshop from any liability or responsibility for accident, damage, injury or illness that may occur as a result of participating in the workshop.

Note: The cheeses require looking after at home – some for a day or two and others up to 2 weeks; and depending on which cheeses are made, some are ready to eat the next day, while others may take a month to mature.

This event is made possible with the support of the NSW Department of Regional Youth and the Kangaroo Valley Lion's Club Inc. and is open to all Shoalhaven youth aged 12-24 years.
